lol:
100 yards, football is not an Olympic sprint event. (The reason for 40 yards is that is what can be covered by RB in one play and in the old days a pass distance that a qb could throw it became traditional). Again you and a AFVD President has the idea of American Football as an Olympic sport.
The reason for these college players to play is simple. This is their last chance of playing football- maybe Arena, maybe next year get a combine invitation or hey they want to play one last game before they "hang their shoes on a nail up" as you Germis say it.
Most of these players have been playing 8 to 10 years of Ball, they are 21 to 23 years old, the prime of their lives. Hey they go to Japan, free. Party a bit and play football. Most Americans don´t even know a World Cup of American Football exists and much like really care, but the Pros now know it and various Agents do to. NFL is allowed a certain number of walk-on Free Agents and sometimes room on a rooster is held for NFLE players and Free Agents. So this may be the small chance for Div2 and 3 players for one last look. I know 3 of these players and we played against two of them they are very talented and gifted and one may end up with an NFL club after all. These are the best of the best in small schools, we had 2 All Americans this year, and they were not picked for this team and are on call if someone should go down.
Yes Heart and Work can make you a winner and who knows you may pull it off, miracles do happen and their is a Santa Claus...he summers here in Finland.
