There were 69 points scored against Plattling last season in 2 relegation games, however not all were Defensive points. Game 1, Darmstadt scored on a short field after a Plattling fumble, and game 2 Darmstadt's Defense took a tipped ball for a TD, and they returned a KO for TD verses reserves at the end of the game. The mighty Marburg gave up 3 TD's to Darmstadt at the beginning of the season, Weinheim also.
In 2008, Plattling's strength on defense was their weakness as well - it was size and speed. No doubt, they were the fastest defense in the GFL2 South, but they were also the smallest (or one of, I didn't see Konningsbrunn or SSA play last season).
One of the coaching job's of the year last season was on Plattling's Defense - imagine what that staff can do with people playing their normal positions this season. Sure, losing Butler will hurt, but secondary is still a strength in Plattling. Game 1 verses Darmstadt confirms Texican's assessment a good QB and good receivers (Darmstadt's receivers were great game 1, especially my hated nemesis Leland Brickus) will kill a defensive secondary every time, and I am not sure that Darius Outlaw even got dirty with the lack of pass rush game 1, he, like Hazel, could have smoked a fine Cuban cigar back there with all the time they had game 1!
Winning games 50-49 - JUST WIN BABY, another reason you need to go and see "the greatest show on grass" play when they are in your neighborhood!
