GFL Season 2010!

This has been a fun offseason to watch. Football in Germany has come a long way the past few years. I do not ever remember, at least in my 10+ years of following football in Germany, having so many players who have played at the professional or NCAA Division 1A. About every roster this season has at least 1 player with this type of experience. The big question though is who will put it all together and win the German Bowl.

Fearless predictions:
No one has improved themselves more in the offseason than the MM. Their were a few key acquisitions during the offseason that will throw them over the top for 2010, and bring the first German Bowl to the South in what seems like forever: (1) Defense was the issue in 2009, and the Mercenaries picked up one of the finest defensive minds in Europe, Joe Roman, to lead the team. (2) Bringing in Joe brought back several key players to Marburg from Austria with National Caliber talent that will pay off immediately. He brought the best of the best from Weinheim (minus Taylor) and picked up 2-3 additional starters on the Defensive side of the ball. And oh, by the way, only brought 2 of the best offensive players in the past 3 years as imports, Langston and Cooper. This team is so loaded with talent, they are like the Adler in 2009, talent to burn. Their 2nd team will beat most GFL1 South Teams. Congrads to MM, best offseason since 2009 in Berlin. IF JU doesn't kill the team, they may go undefeated!

South
1. MM - See above
2. SHU - Only real question was answered when they brought in a D1 QB. This team is still loaded with talent, but MM just too tough.
3. PBH - new Coaches, Bavarian All Star Team, but just not enough on Defense to contain either SH or MM. Not to mention, they do have a Home and Home with the BL and will finish 0-2 here.
4. SS - only because the 2010 off season was SOOOO Bad in MC and WL. This team is a shadow of the dynasty that used to be.
5. MC - At least they can get 25 players to practice. Offseason was a train wreck, but they will be good enough to beat the WL. Thats about it!
6. WL - biggest question is will they even field a team at all? 1/2 of their team is in Marburg, 1/8 in SHU, the rest of the 3/8 just won't get it done. They would finish 4th to 5th in the GFL2 South.

North
1. BA - Still the best in the North. SF was able to keep most of the team in place, and theiur 2009 pre-season was so strong, who could argue with them still being on top???
2. KBH - new Coach, many great names, but the early loss to Marburg will set them behind. The team will come around after a few games, they will be peaking going into the playoffs.
3. BL - another shadow of the former dynasty, but they are still the BL! D1 players on both sides of the ball really help. Biggest question is the aging lines!
4. DM - Team is flying under the radar, but imho, they will be better than last year.
5/6 Too close to call. EAC - good OL and DL normally = wins, and this year, they will earn a few. BR - great potential, just tough to play in the same city as the Champs.

I know some will be pissed off, or well, as we say in the military, "Write your Congressman" LOL. Its football, its predictions, its a fan forum, who gives a shizza. Besides, I am about 40% good on my predictions anyway, so probably the MC and EAC will play in the German Bowl :)

Yes it´s right, because " Cooper " plays at Swarco Raiders in the AFL with number #23

But between " Tory " and " Sean " it´s a difference in the prenames!

Sean Cooper will not be playing in Marburg in 2010. Just got off the phonw with him and he has confirmed once again he will not be coming over to play this year for Marburg.

Also alles in Sachen Cooper bitte im anderen Thread!
