Nobody is complaining about the score, nobody is telling a backup not to give his very best and try to score on every single play. I'd be happy if the Cardinals were in a position to have the starters rest and give the backups as much playing time as possible.Leonidas hat geschrieben:Koln played with all backups from before halftime. Second, third and fourth stringers on offense. Guys who didn't even play for most of the season. What do you want the coaches to tell them? Please don't score? These guys also practiced all year long, and they are also entitled their rewards.
Everyone makes it out like Essen is made up of U14 players, and Koln had NFL players. Reality is Essen had just as many athletes on the field as Koln.
This is not junior football, but the GFL 2. Things just worked better for Koln. I'm sure they worked hard for those results.
And I would hope that when an offense comes on the field that they try to score, be it first string, second, third or fourth string. I do'nt even see what the big deal is about the score. It's just a score.
Is Berlin then also evil because they won 56-0, or Dresden for winning 62-14, or Kiel or Schwabisch Hall for racking up over 500 and 600 points over the season? I think not.
So everyone quit whining, go back and practice, correct, rehearse, improve and play the next game. That's football.
But faking a PAT up 48-0 or going for it on a 4th and 11 in Q4, that's got nothing to do with backups trying to score, that's just coaches trying to humiliate the opponent. Just the kind of sportsmanship that lets people see what a jerk your are.
