oh well...the season has come down to what I thought it would be at the beginning, Pforzheim. I thought they were the strongest team at the beginning of the season and the team to beat. Of course I could not say that early on with all of the mania about SH...

PW is a tough team, probably the hardest hitting team in the OL. We had a great game with them a few weeks back and if everything holds the last couple of weeks, our 28 Jul game should decide who goes up this year. If SH uses the same personnel they did against SSA last weekend, doubtful they can beat PW this coming weekend. Our game with SSA will be tough, we do not match up as well with them as I would like, so we will work very hard this week. They can be the spoiler for us. We have a close relationship with them because of our Junior Team, so we will really have to fight hard if we want to win the rematch. I am sure, especially after talking to Jusgen and Doc, that they want to kick our butts and they will be well-prepared.

It all boil down to who has the healthiest players over the next couple of weeks. LB is hurting, but we have more depth this year, so it will be interesting as a coach to try to prepare some of our back-ups to start in the next couple of weeks.

Good luck to everyone out there for the rest of the season and may the best team move up to the RL. The best team is defined by the team who can win with whatever 11 players that have on game day, not by whichever game you had your best 11 players.

Also, finally, after we have finished our games with SH (for this year at least), I can give you my opinion on Team 2 rules. I believe that if ANY player dresses out and stands on the sideline of the higher team's (Team1) game, they should not play for Team 2. They can pracitce together, have the same coaches, etc, but it defeats the purpose of having lower leagues. We in the "lower leagues" are not here to train the higher league's team. We all have our hopes and aspirations to make it up to the next level and having higher league players in our league defeat the purpose. This is not soccer, it is football. And we are our own separaet football clubs in these leagues, we are not B teams playing each other like minor league famr clubs. They can do that on their own time with scrimmages with other GFL or national teams using their back-ups. Keep the leagues pure, it is much more fun to play in competative games against clubs mroe your equal and to earn your right to go to the next level without having players playing in both leagues ruin that -- anyway, my opinion, hopefully someone from the league is listening.

Those are pretty ambitious scores! I think both games will be pretty close. I do not see SH2 giving up 52. Their defense is pretty much intact. They are actually better against the rush (which PF excels at) than the pass, so I do not expect that many points to be put up on them. But we will see!

SSA plays us tough every year. I would hope for an easy game, but I think it will be very tough. Thanks for the confidence though!

Tipps fürs Wochenende

Ludwigsburg Bulldogs - SSA +23
Ludwigsburg wird das Ding glaub machen. Stuttgart hat gegen Hall zweimal gewonnen, gegen Kuchen aber verloren. Ludwigsburg bis auf die eine Niederlage gegen Hall die beständigste Leistung über die bisherige Saison. Starke Offense und Defense. Aber wie wir seit 3 Wochen wissen ist Stuttgart für eine Überraschung gut. Wird bestimmt spannend.

Pforzheim Wilddogs - Unicorns II +8
Bin der Meinung Pforzheim wird das Spiel gewinnen - wenn auch denkbar knapp.
Hall wird die Jugendspieler dabei haben die hoch gekommen sind und die werden heiß sein etwas zu reißen. Pforzheim ist im Laufe der Saison aber laufend stärker geworden. Wird meiner Meinung nach eine Begegnung auf Augenhöhe mit einem knappem Sieg für die WD

Die Mammuts sollten also nicht zu selbstsicher in das Spiel gehen und die Crailsheimer unterschätzen. Bin mal gespannt ob die Mammuts auch was aus der Jugend hoch bekommen. In den vergangenen Jahren waren es zwar nicht viele, dafür sehr sehr starke Spieler die aus der eigenen Jugend kamen. Dieses Jahr weiß ich leider gar nichts von Jugendspielern.

Ich tippe darauf, dass Ludwigsburg das Ding gegen SSA locker machen wird. Die Woche darauf gegen Pforzheim wird es schon etwas kniffliger,
aber auch das werden die Bulldogs schaffen. Lubu hat diese Saison eine top Leistung und Motivation gezeigt und ist meiner Meinung nach das Team, das es am meisten verdient hat in die RL aufzusteigen

That's how it is supposed to be in Football.
Either you have 2 full, INDEPENDENT teams, or you don't.

es geht einfach darum, wie man die GFL-Spieler einsetzt, und gg welche Gegner........wenn die immer spielen....alles kein Thema...aber nicht so wie dieses Jahr..........einmal wird alles in Grund und Boden gespielt und dann sinkt das Niveau auf Abstiegskandidat...............denn das ist nicht ok allen anderen Teams in der Liga gegenüber

Das hört sich so an, als sei der Kader teilweise zu 90 % ausgetauscht worden, was ziemlich weit von der Realität entfernt ist. Beispiel: Gegen Pforzheim spielte Jan Schreiber QB und hatte ein gutes Spiel -> Sieg Unicorns 2. Gegen die Silver Arrows spielte er ebenfalls QB und hatte ein schlechtes Spiel, dazu fehlten ihm zwei O-Liner (einer krank, einer verletzt) -> Niederlage Unicorns 2. Ich würde schätzen, dass die Aufstellung in den zwei Spielen zu 90 % identisch war, nur hatten viele Spieler (es liegt ja nicht nur am QB) gegen die Arrows einen schwachen Tag erwischt. Das passiert allen. Ähnlich lief es bei den Spielen gegen Ludwigsburg, beide Male war Brian Rushing QB. Einmal hat's zum knappen und glücklichen Sieg gereicht, einmal nicht.

Wenn man(n) das hier so liest, könnte man meinen, das es eine Schande ist gegen die Arrows zu verlieren.
Und ob Jan an dem Tag gut oder schlecht gespielt hat, liegt sicher auch mit am Gegner.
Könnte aber auch sein, das die Arrows, wie gegen Ludwigsburg, gut gespielt haben
Aber egal....nach dem Wochenende wissen wir mehr
