Im sure there are many reasons why there aren't as many teams in Hessen (more industry, more sponsoring, more people usw) as in Ba-Wue, but for whatever the reason is I am only stating the obvious from simple math -- 21 is more than 10. The reality is that at the moment, a team from Hessen only has to be better than 9 teams to get to the Regionalliga Mitte whereas a team from Ba-Wue has to be "better" than 20 other teams to get the same chance??? I know you have pride in Hessen if you are from there but come on man 20 vs 9??? Big difference that even the dumbest person has to agree with...no matter what the reason for the difference is!Greenkeeper hat geschrieben:Ich schreib mal in Deutsch kann es sein das Bawü größer ist als Hessen das dort viel mehr Industrie ansässig ist(Sponsoring) und es mehr größere Städte gibt?wall-e hat geschrieben:Damn...Football Leagues in Hessen can't possibly be as hard as in Ba-Wue if the Universe are just running through them like a hot knife through butter.
But then again, with a 6-team Landesliga, no Verbandsliga (WTF??) and only a 4 team Oberliga (WTF??) I guess it is possble to get to Regionalliga much much easier using the "Hessen Route" since there are only 10 teams playing football (WTF???)
In AFV Ba-Wue 2009 we have 6 teams in LL, 9 in the VL and then another 6 in the OL for a total of 21 teams before you can even think about making it to the RL.

I agree, more doesn't equal better and I am definitely not saying the better teams in Hessen aren't just as competitive as the teams in Ba-Wue. But I was focused more on the ability of an AFV Hessen team to get to the RL Mitte with much less "blood, sweat and tears" than it will typically take a team from AFV Ba-Wue. For a team to go from LL to RL in Ba-Wue in 3 years would be AMAZING and nearly impossible! But yes, one league less (VL) and 2 less Oberliga teams makes it alot easier! Kind of like back in the day when there were only 3 leagues...getting to the Bundesliga then was something that could happen within 2-3 yearspumpkinhead hat geschrieben:witzbold...El_hombre hat geschrieben:Ja, dein Haarschnitt ist wirklich old-fashioned.walterer hat geschrieben:uf hat scheissfriteusen .....

wall-e is right as is walterer. It was probably the "easiest" season to reach the Regionalliga.
I expect much stronger competition next year and are very suspect about those voices who predict another Aufstieg for 2010. I doubt that. Plus I think that this would be too much, too soon for this organisation.
If Universe stays away from the Abstiegszone and will beat one or two of the top teams I'd see that as a huge success for a team in its third season and a Verein in its third year of existance.
However, we'll all find out next year this time. And we will have learned who really knew better.
And cohibaman is right too. Where's the trash-talkers? Vacation? Power outage due to unpaid bills? Constant delirium because of FU's success?

schon klar, wollte ich dir auch nicht unterstellen.wall-e hat geschrieben:(...)I agree, more doesn't equal better and I am definitely not saying the better teams in Hessen aren't just as competitive as the teams in Ba-Wue. (...)
Since the "path" to the RL Mitte isn't filled with the same number of teams or leagues between Hessen and Ba-Wue, maybe there could be a Relegation playoffs between the OL Ba-Wue and OL Hessen to see which two teams get to move up to the RL Mitte. The same format is used between RL Sued and RL MItte for relegation to GFL2. Then it would be OL Hessen Nr 1 vs OL Ba-Wue Nr 2 and OL Ba-Wue Nr 1 vs OL Hessen Nr 2 (playing two games -- home and away) and the winners would get relegated to the RL Mitte. Would be exciting and would maybe lead to some "upsets" and would also theoretically reward the "better" teams with the relegation they deserve.pumpkinhead hat geschrieben:schon klar, wollte ich dir auch nicht unterstellen.wall-e hat geschrieben:(...)I agree, more doesn't equal better and I am definitely not saying the better teams in Hessen aren't just as competitive as the teams in Ba-Wue. Potential 2009 Example:
Frankfurt Universe (6-0-0) vs Albershausen Crusaders (6-0-1)
Ravensburg Razorbacks (8-0-0) vs Giessen Golden Dragons (2-0-2)

A „conference final“ at the end of the season it’s a nice idea. But than the game days of both leagues have to be balanced. It shouldn’t be a break of three or more weeks for one team before the conference final. (like in the 2009 example)
Also I don’t expect that the teams from Hessen or from Baden Württemberg will dominate such a conference final. The current standings of the Regionalliga Mitte doesn’t show that teams from BW are significant stronger as the teams from Hessen.
Only the results of the cross check games could lead to the assumption that BW teams are stronger.
From Hessen point of view we can say that we have concentrated our American Football talents in few strong teams with regular roster size, instead of distributing the few good players on a hell of teams.
So, let the conference final come!

Also alles völlig ausgeglichen im Verhältnis gesehen.El_hombre hat geschrieben: From Hessen point of view we can say that we have concentrated our American Football talents in few strong teams with regular roster size, instead of distributing the few good players on a hell of teams.

I never get into deep discussions between what area or teams are better when it comes to football because it is toooooo easy to solve that argument --- bring it to the field and let us see whether OL Hessen (plus the other areas it includes) or OL Ba-Wue is stronger!El_hombre hat geschrieben:A „conference final“ at the end of the season it’s a nice idea. So when would you suggest the OL playoffs happen? The only way to do a Relegation playoff is after the season is finished in both leagues and you know who Nr 1 and Nr 2 are in each league. If Hessen is only going to have 6-8 game seasons then it will always be 2-3 weeks later since the OL Ba-Wue is playing 10-12 games. Nothing you can do about that and that isnt Ba-Wue's problem...
