What's up with Plattling?
Forgive me for being dumb, but WTF is the issue with Plattling? Why does everyone hate on Plattling? What has Plattling done that is any worse than what other programs in Germany have done? Is it the imports?? Let me see, Franken went out and got imports didn't they?? Wiesbaden has 4 A's! Kirchdorf has A's! Montabaur has A's! Saarland has A's, hell even Stuttgart has A's, amybe even Konningsbrunn! Is there a rule against it?? Maybe I missed it in the rule book somewhere, there is a salary cap, right?
Why don't we look at the GFL1 for a minute. Did Braunschweg build its program with its youth team?? HELL NO! What about the Blue Devils?? Nope! Kiel Baltic? Weinheim? Schwabisch Hall? Marburg? WTF NO THEY DIDN'T! Look at Braunschwegs OL this season and tell me how many of those players grew up in Braunschweg, or how many came to the program either for its tradition, or an opportunity to win a Championship?
Let me see, they pay their Germans...who the hell cares. Who the hell knows for sure? Has anyone seen cleared checks? Has anyone done an audit on the Plattling Checking Account? Do you think that they spent any more money on their team this year than Franken? I don't balance the checkbooks, but I seriously doubt it! YET, Franken is the darlings and Plattling is the glasklar team.
Wiesbaden's last press announcement before the season began talked about the 9 new players they brought over this season. Perrier came from Aschaffensburg, we didn't grow him...so, WTF. Matz has been with the program several years, but we didn't grow him...WTF Buskirk is an Ami! I look at 9 new additions as a success story for the Phantoms organization. NO ONE on this football forum can tell me that EVERY SUCCESSFUL Team does not recruit. Unless you are the Dusseldorf Panthers with the premier Jugend Program in Germany, my recommendation is grow up, get off their nuts. By the way, anybody want to make a side bet on the Junior Dusseldorf Panthers verses some lower-tier teams in the GFL2???
I take the Panthers +3 over Konningsbrunn LOL

To me, there are differences between A's and imports. A's good, imports bad! A's are part of the team the entire pre-season and can work with the Germans, A's aren't!
Also, to me, it's about competetiveness sans imports; think PBH is GFL2 material w/o their imports? Take away their passing game, and thei can neiteher run, nor pass, nor defend against the run...
9 new players for WP is OK. But that's before the season, the youth players come up during the season, i.e. after the youth season is over. Ask PBH and WP how many quality youth players they each get up this year, and weep!
And, afaik, WP does not recruit, mainly due to some of the coaching staff being coaches of national and/or regional teams as well. How'd you like your best players being recruited by coaches who have official access to your guys?
WP youth vs. DP youth was close, iirc.
Just my two cents...
