Everyone has problems!
Everyone has problems!
I keep seeing Hamburgs problem, Kiel´s Problem my Mommas problem!
here it is in a nut shell, what makes Football exciting is problems! Like who has the talent, who has the coach that can motivate players to play their best, who has a better staff to coach up the D and the O and the Special Teams, and finally who has the Money!
Right now these are my problems...
who will win the North?
I see Berlin, Kiel and BS in it till the end...the make and break for Berlin is Offense, they now have the Coaches in Fatah and Rowlands to make the Offense finally work and if they do, watch out! This is too close to call.
The South, my South.....ahhhhhh!!!!!!!
Guys its up for Grabs.
The truth, I know some off you can´t handle the truth!
Marburg, Old, still talented but old... HC problems, leadership issues and who is in charge. Can it be fixed can they get back on track can its veterans still have that final push at seasons end? I think the old power house of the South will not win the South but still be in the play-offs.
Hall still has no Defense to really play with the big boys and will finish 4th again.
Longhorns, Danny Ball will end soon as will HC, too many coaches have left and no real changes have taken place, and it will be again, give Danny the ball and every defense that plays against them will say, Danny´s getting the ball! One Great player does not make an offense and one offensive game plan of Danny Ball will win games but not all of them... close fifth place or at the end of the table.
Scorpions, new HC...lacking GFL experiance...again the team is OLD, I see the Double Wing coming back! Hey it has worked before but it cannot win the big games against a good Def and an explosive offense and this is a High School, 70´s offense, I see the Men in Red fall to 5th.
This leaves the deep south, Munich... will finish in 2nd or 3rd...not enough Money to really buy top talent, if it could, then I would see it as a winner. This leaves the Black Hawks, the only way they lose is if they fight among themselves, it is their choice. Top Talent, QB and receivers, a new and improved defense and a plan to win, that started the day they beat DD in the second game. Dedicated Coaches and Vorstand working together which is a rare thing to getting the best and the most, 365 days 24/7 on how do we win the South.
Hey this is my Problem so you can disagree but be nice...its a month or so before it all starts and I am a fan so we will see.

I am usually the one pumping Plattling up, but wholly shit Batman...win the South? Texican, I am with you 9 out of 10 times...but win the South? You can't really be serious...WIN THE SOUTH - Plattling!
As old as Marburg and Stuttgart are, Plattling is young. Were this a team that had played in the GFL1 a few years I say maybe, but they haven't played a single down of GFL1 football verses DECENT GFL1 talent.
Sorry man, I see 4th, MAYBE 3rd in the South, but no way does a 1st year team who played GFL2 the year prior and never GFL1 before jump right in and lay the smack down!
Plattling, win the SOUTH? I must say, they have made some really good acquisitions on the defensive side of the ball, and bringing back Hazel brings continuity - these boys should pick up where they left off last season, BUT do you think they can stop the Double Wing from Stuttgart, because it is coming back guys, MARK MY WORDS. Do you think they can stop Jerome Morris and the Cowboys offense on a consistent basis, and Danny Washington with some more weapons. Marburg may be old, but they return the leading rusher in the GFL1 2008. Essen is another poor defensive match-up for the Black Hawks! Plattling matches up well with SH, JUST because they see it all the time, but Plattling a GFL1 South Champion??? Maybe 2010, definatly not 2009! Give them hell anyway Black Hawks!

Up for Grabs
Yup, I have to agree that the South is completley up for grabs this year more than any other in the new millineum. Dont know too much about Plattling, but I know experience in the first league does help.
SH is always pretty solid but ever since 01 they had a QB that could scramble while the D-backs were chasing the 4 reciever sets all over the feild. Can't tell you how many first downs have came off the legs of Vandever and Neuman.
SS were looking horrible fo rthis year, but with the return of Vandever and some other key players, they will not be bottom dwellers. You need to buckle your chinstrap to deal with Geiger and Scott on the other side plays well sideline to sideline. Vandever will not allow the double wing to come back, he isn't there for that.
MM lost it's anchor on the blind side and their secondary isnt very good. Cooper is the real deal, but where's the line? Beidenkamp isnt there anymore to team up with Duft. I like the TE though. He's a player.
Weinheim will do better than people expect. They added some new weapons on D and O and although they are skilled postions, they were areas that needed to be addressed. It wont be Danny ball there although he is an inticate part of their O.
Munich is solid, love the back and the passing game is efficent. Secondary is horrible however.
I would list a finish, but it is too hard to tell. All the teams have players that have the desire to win and can contribute. It all comes down to preperation and the least amount of mistakes made on gameday. Coaching will play a HUGE role in the championship of the South (plays a huge part anywhere, however, how hard is it to coach a team like B-Schweig with deep pockets).

So 60% of starters are not so old, what about your number 2´s? What is there experience? The new HC what is his experience he may a fine coach but this is not GFL youth, these are seasoned coaches and staff that know what they are doing and have seen a lot of sideline time. I am glad to hear Carpenter is back...he is outstanding. Also I am not a SS hater guy I have admired the team for along time and last year gave them some film against a team they were going to play so I really don´t need the insult. I am simply saying what the truth is...by the team is Old I mean that players have been around awhile, your two guards over 30, if they go down who protects the inside, right tackles are the weakest lineman as a general rule, left tackle are the best...what is your replacement, players get hurt all the time. Marburg has great experience but no depth meaning that they can´t afford to lose starting players. I feel that is the same rule for SS. IRA is back...the Double Wing has been a stable of the SS, frankly I have used film and pictures as a team that runs this well or did run it well, but let me ask you this, what did your Youth Team run? What does the new HC really know as an offense? What is he comfortable with? If things are not clicking what will he adjust too? If IRA is running the O that is different, but what if it is not working? Many questions and really no answers, we will wait and see how the season goes all is speculation and talk and I maybe wrong...who cares anyway? I am just a fan.
