Am Anfang der Woche ist Pat Julmiste, Quarterback der Stuttgart Scorpions, an die Vereinsführung herangetreten, mit dem Wunsch den Verein mit sofortiger Wirkung zu verlassen.
Als Gründe nannte er ein Angebot aus der Arena Football League (AFL) und dass es ihm schwer falle sich in Deutschland einzuleben, ohne seine Familie in der Nähe zu haben. Für die Trainer und die Vereinsführung kam diese Entscheidung sehr überraschend. „Wir bedauern die Entscheidung von Pat den Verein verlassen zu wollen, da wir die Saison fest mit ihm geplant haben“ erklärt Ute Zielke, Vorsitzende des ASC Stuttgart Scorpions e.V. „wir werden den Vertrag in beidseitigem Einverständnis auflösen und wünschen ihm für seine persönliche und
sportliche Zukunft alles Gute.“

Das nächste Spiel ist schon am Samstag gegen Hall...nun gut, ich denke, da wär so oder so nix drin gewesen, aber so ganz ohne Quarterback is ja nun schon heftig. Günter Michel als Starter am Samstag? No J. Scott, No P. Scott, no true healthy RB's, no QB........ Normally I would predict a return to the double wing offense they used to run, but now........ they don't even have the RB's to pull that off.
If I were them I would be getting Tony Avella on the telephone and scramble for another import QB.
If not.............. the Scorps are in a lot of trouble, if Weinheim can beat them next time, we just might see a possible absteig for the Scorps........ ouch.

OUCH! That would be a HUGE turn of events as the Scorps have the longest running streak of any GFL team to stay at that level without droping to the 2. Will definitely be interesting to see how this will play out with no offensive backfield and a QB that is 50+ years old. Man if I were the SHU Def Coord I would be licking my chops! Can you say "BLITZ" boys and girls? I knew you could

Weinheim wird das Rückspiel gegen Stuttgart nicht mit 40+ Punkten Differenz gewinnen, wenn überhaupt. Und ob sie noch ein anderes Spiel gewinnen bleibt eh fraglich.
München ist ja bekanntlich stärker als erwartet, knappes Spiel gegen Plattling (ok Plattling ist bisher sehr Tagesform abhängig, wie ich das mitbekommen hab) und gegen Stuttgart gewonnen.
Daraus folgt: Stuttgart wird wenn dann 5 und bleibt der GFL erhalten

whoah, looks like SS is in big trouble........really see them fighting the 2nd league team at the end of the year...Predicting they wont win anymore games this year....dont think they have money for another import.....nobody backing up the older QB either I think.......disasterous. No on left and they chased away all of there good Americans who been there for a long time....unfortunate to see a team so rooted in the GFL for so long come to this.
