Dear Fans,
Over the past three years, we have been part of an incredible journey. The European League of Football was a truly unique initiative, one that we believed had the potential to redefine European club football. And while we were aware that Hungarian American football still had room to grow before competing head-to-head with Europe’s top clubs, we firmly believed that if Hungary had the opportunity, it must represent itself at the highest level.
Throughout these three seasons, we have experienced both disappointments and euphoric successes—these years have been a true rollercoaster. We must also acknowledge that despite all our efforts, dedication, and hard work, we were unable to keep pace with the very best teams on the continent, as throughout these three years the Enthroners consistently remained in the lower half of the standings. One thing, however, is certain: we have learned a great deal, we have grown into a stronger team, a tighter community, a real family, and our players have made remarkable progress along the way.
Unfortunately, by the end of the 2025 season, the unity of the ELF had fractured: some clubs went bankrupt, teams withdrew from its core, the league split, and even one of the founding owners departed from the organization. These uncertainties led us to accept the kind invitation of the Austrian American Football Federation (AFBÖ), and we are thrilled to announce that we will begin the 2026 season in Austria’s top division, the AFL.
We are highly motivated by this new opportunity. No Hungarian team has ever played in this league, let alone triumphed in it. Our goal is clear: with systematic, hard work, we want to build a championship team once again in Székesfehérvár!
Of course, we do not rule out the possibility of one day returning to a pan-European league, should one be established and begin operating successfully and stably. But at this moment, this decision is what we believe serves the best interests of both the club and the Football Academy we operate.
We thank everyone who has supported us and stood by us on this journey, and we hope this farewell will not be permanent. Perhaps one day European football will align in such a way that the dream of a true European Football League becomes reality again.
For now, however, our focus is on the AFL, and we look forward to welcoming you once more at our games—this time with a new mission: to see a Hungarian team compete in the Austrian Bowl as soon as possible!
