Corpsi, you are one bitter MoFo man! Plattling played better, and thus deserved to win. Blah Blah Blah about the Stadium Announcer, those who were in attendance really didn't need one. I am with Data though, a scoreboard would have been nice to see!
Referees, I saw no problem with how the game was called. I thought Hazel was late hit a few times when he slid and was still hit, but I thought Outlaw was also late hit once by #44, it all balances out. I thought Brickus interfered once with Blakely who had gotten behind coverage, last I remember, face guarding is a penalty, and no attempt was ever made to catch the ball. Then again, I think Brickus was interfered with once as well and not called. It all works itself out.
My analysis, as if anyone cares, Plattling was just the better team. The offense performed almost perfectly. Take away the great goal line stand by the DD and I think Plattling was only stopped once. Defensively, of the 4 games I saw/watched Plattling play this season, this was BY FAR the worst game they played. The secondary was weak, not aggressive, intimidated maybe. I expected more.
From Darmstadt, there was no quit in this team. They have my respect for showing up and playing a hell of a game. I said they had no playmakers coming into the game, WHERE THE HELL have these WR's been all season. I don't think they dropped a ball till the 4th quarter. Outlaw was accurate when he got pressure, he performed how I would expect a veteran GFL1 QB to perform. Defensively, they were just out-coached. They tried to play coverage and were beat. They tried to blitz and were beat. Again, bold statement, Hazel is the best QB I have seen play live in my many years of watching GFL2 and 1 here in Hessen. He is a gamer, never rattled, always in control. He was rarely pressured, much respect to the Plattling OL, I bet they rushed for over 200 yards, and #39, great gutsy performance.
Game 2 - I think the advantage has to go to Plattling. Darmstadt has to make that long bus trip to Bavaria, they have to face a well-oiled offensive machine! Make no bones about it, Plattling can compete on the first Division offensively. I think they have A LONG WAY TO GO Defensively to compete with Marburg/Stuttgart/Munich in the South, but give this team a few years. They always recruit well, they always have quality imports, they will not be one and done.
For Darmstadt, time to get back the hessen Derby with Wiesbaden. Nothing to hang their heads over with a great game against the class of the GFL2 2008. According to posters, they have a young, hungry team with a lot of GFL1 experience. They will be instant contenders in the GFL2, MUCH MORE competitive than Saarland was this season. I'd like to say I'd be in Plattling in 2 weeks, gonna have to catch up on the game via film as I must work!
Peace Out - And Corpsi...GET A F!@#(*& life dude, I've never seen one constructive thing in your posts about anyone who is better than Wiesbaden. Dude, they were better this year! GET OVER IT! We will be back next season, maybe next season is our year to shine! Quit hating though, making excuses, blah blah blah! Respekt to Plattling, its staff and players, good job representing the GFL2 South!
