I wasn't going to go there with the war thing Texican, we are 60+ years beyond that, and I happen to love it here in Germany. Beer is great, women are great, they throw a fest at the drop of the hat - my kind of place. Everyone in the Army (most) wants to come to Germany, not because of the weather mind you!
But for the smartass who threw out Vietnam, not a single battle in Vietnam was lost by US forces. Look it up chump! We killed 3-1 of those little bastards, but we lost our will in a very unpopular war. Never discuss politics and church my Mom used to say, and this is a football forum anyhow.
To more important things - I agree with many of the statements made about Plattling and why they won't win the South. Coaches - who defines what GFL1 Coaches are? Is it that they have coached a season in the GFL1? College level? What about High School level. There are some American High Schools that would put an ass whooping on 90% of the teams in Europe, Germany included! I guess Plattling has as good as any minus Berlin and Munich. The Head Coach there has more than 15 years experience as position coach/coordinator in High Schools, and 4 years of GFL2 South experience. The OC there is in his 2nd year, but the QB is a college coach in the US. Between the 2 of them the Offense will be OK!
Organization, link on the PBH homepage has them being recognized as one of the top teams in Niederbayern, a finalist. Texican, you made some pretty bold statements abouth their team, what is your experience with them?
Reliance on Ami's - this is GFL2 talk, what team in the GFL1 minus Munich is not heavily reliant on Ami's? Do you think Lautenschlauger will take them to a title?
Plattling has made good offseason moves, some teams are keeping under their hat what they are doing, but no doubt, Marburg and Stuttgart, neither are as strong as heading into last season, and Plattling is better than Darmstadt was, Weinheim is better, SHU???

Skao ask any Osti why they don´t speak Russian. Since most of their grand parents have Russian in them or did have one in them....
Guys...the South is weak...God I hate to say it but it is true...Some teams have superstars, so does PBH, some teams have good players so does PBH, some teams have good coaches, so does PBH... so why not?
As for my experience with PBH...ask around I really do not need to go there, it is positive.
For the Vietnam comment, hey this is from a country that passes out milk cartons in a war zone and allowed the Bosnian situation to happen saying that it was against their constitution...as for Amis leaving ask the Burgermiesters who went hat in hand to Washington pleading that the US Military stay in Mannheim and Heidelberg. So 60 years back still is in effect.
Again why the hating...if I am wrong the sun still comes up, if I am right you will all forget about it! I said that Adam Hazel was going to make a big difference last year, he did...but everyone got crazy about it. I picked the German Bowl teams last year, big deal...I am a fan of the GFL 1 and I get to see many games or film...
But the first pass has not been thrown and the first game has not been played and the first wurst has not been eaten...

Ich spreche Russisch und Englisch, habe keine russischen Verwandten, habe in den USA und Russland gelebt/gearbeitet/studiert und bin nicht im Ostteil Deutschlands aufgewachsen.
Ich muß wohl nicht betonen, daß diese Diskussion über Ost/West vollkommener Bullshit ist. Meiner Erfahrung nach sind die Menschen überall ziemlich gleich, auch wenn es kulturelle Unterschiede gibt. Was uns alle unterscheidet ist lediglich das Land das im Pass steht und die Ideologien die uns unsere Regierungen aufs Auge drücken. Leider rennen viel zu viele Leute dieser Propaganda hinterher ohne auch nur das geringste über diejenigen zu wissen, über die sie urteilen.
Wir sind alle keine Politiker und keiner von uns wird je in die Verlegenheit kommen einen Krieg anzufangen. Das machen andere für uns, ob wir das für richtig oder falsch halten ist denen eh Schnuppe. Also macht eure Köpfe frei und glaubt nicht all den Wahnsinn den man uns vorzugaukeln versucht.

mich nerven die - für einen muttersprachler mit erschütternd vielen fehlern behafteten - kommentare von texican. in typischer [sic!] manier werden vorgeblich tiefschürfende analysen vorgetragen, wobei es offensichtlich ist, dass der vortragende über keinerlei über das ff hinausgehende information zu irgendeinem gfl-team verfügt, sondern von den informationen lebt, die er vor ca. 5 jahren mal als assistant coach in rüsselsheim aus 2. hand erfahren hat. btw - welche erfolgreiche offense hat lee rowland mal gecoacht?Texican hat geschrieben:bs

Wenn wir schon beim Süden sind:
Mathes in Berlin find ich krass. Marburg hat doch noch mehr Leute verloren, oder? Der türkische CB und Malvesti wenn ich mich nicht irre?
Naja mal schaun ich glaub im Süden kann jeder jeden schlagen, aber da Plattling die besten Chancen hat ihre InterConferenceGames zu gewinnen kann ich mir gut vorstellen, dass die ganz vorne mitspielen!

das problem von plattling war/ist, dass man sich dort zu sehr auf die A's verlässt. Die GFL2 wurde durch einen A QB und einen A WR gewonnen. ich denke aber das das in der GFL nicht mehr möglich ist. Das Runninggame war meißt nicht vorhanden. und ohne running game gewinnt man doch nicht die gfl süd

Rowlands, had great success in Darmstadt and got them to the first liga on the spread offense, he left the team for a NFLE coaching job and then went to the states to coach in college also English national HC his time in Russelsheim under Wyatt a great passing coach. Un-experiance example SS coach has run a youth team , maybe national position coach job...to my knowledge. Hey guy this is just the facts as I know them, if they are not 100% correct then sorry.
But look at HC Coaches in South
Munich...great coach, at least 20 years experience
Hall...offensive coach excellent, at least 10 years experience
Wienheim....as much as I see it one sided offense, my opinion, A rated coach by German standards and at least 10 years experience and a good coach.
PBH, great coach, 15 years experience, Coach of the year in Bavaria this year.
Marburg, new HC to my knowledge NFL experience so we are looking at at least 10 years.
This is a lot of sideline time and these guys are not fooled with switch and bait option Offense
I have no ill will for a new coach I wish him good luck but when your in the water with the big boys you better know how to swim every way you can. Now Emmet you may have been brought up under this coach and I understand the loyalty and that is a good thing. But one must be practical and I am on the outside looking in and have the perspective as a Fan, I will repeat that again a Fan!!!! So I have an opinion and if it bothers you fine...but I am not a player and I see things from the stands or on my computer screen or sometimes hear it on the radio but I do follow the Liga with a passion.
So that is my final word on this thread...I see a small miracle next season.
